From his hometown of Detroit Michigan Tony Balaskas started rapping and making beats since ’96.  After rifling through the underground circuit and recording local artists Tony took up engineering full time.  After relocating to the Tampa Bay area he has been consistently licensing tracks for film and TV.  Currently pursuing a Bachelors degree in audio production at Berklee College of Music, Tony has grown as an artist and producer.
Establishing “O Face Productions” as a production company in 2012,
he is best known for Hip Hop, Electronic and Cinematic Hybrid soundtracks.

Tony is a certified Pro Tools User and has enjoyed composing, editing, arranging and mixing for over 10 years.  Here’s a look at his artistic point of view.

Tony’s Artistic Statement

     “I like to create an experience for the audience.  For me to create, I have to reach into myself and relive an experience in order to show you what it was like for me.  The goal is to communicate those same emotions to the listener.

I write using sounds that encompass the feelings I’m trying to convey in order to deliver the main theme.  I let myself be the medium and the music, my ears and creative judgment guide me through the process.  I know a piece is complete once the target range of emotion has been communicated and I have succeeded when listeners feel what I feel when they hear the music.

Since learning music theory and the language of music I’ve been more effective at developing a piece and making the right choices.  Currently I’m exploring advanced mixing techniques, expressing emotions and building arrangements.  I’m currently adding quality material to my catalog for licensing opportunities and networking with professionals.  I’ll continue to grow as an artist and that’s what keeps me going”!
